The rumor is finally over as Davido took to twitter few minutes ago to announce his official signing to Sony Music Global. Congrats to Davido for being such an inspiration to the young ones and for being a hard worker. We wish him all the best as he starts his international journey. Davido Hits It Big, Signs Deal With Sony BMG Music New York

For days now,Davido has been talking about a deal which would change his life.This morning,he talked about one million dollars,asking fans if they have ever held a million dollars.Now, he took this photo outside Sony BMG Music office in New York and wrote;

STAVE HARVEY TO HOST JULIUS AGWU’S COMEDY CONCERT

Iconic American comic, Steve Harvey is set to storm the city of Lagos as the host of Julius Agwu’s comedy concert in February.
The comedy concert tagged- ‘Life As I See It: The Rebirth’- would also feature the hilarious British comedian, Eddie Kadi.
Julius Agwu revealed this on Thursday, during a world press conference held at VCP hotel, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Organiser of the show, Agwu revealed that the double concert is aimed at announcing his comeback and rebirth as a ‘Child of God’.
It will take place at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites on February 7, while the subsequent event will hold at the Transcorp Hilton, in Abuja on Valentines day, February 14.
Julius Agwu, who had a successful brain surgery in mid-2015, has repeatedly expressed his resolve to use his talent for God, as he basks in his new lease of life.

Idara’s Bassey government 2015/2016
Government is said to be a group of people that governs a community or units. It sets and administers public policy and exercises executive political and sovereign power through customs, institutions and laws within a particular geographical region. Teamwork is key; an individual simply cannot do it alone.
In one academic year I have spent in the faculty of engineering, I have been privileged to observe and also serenaded all manner of promises from various aspirants, but tremendously speaking, ever since his appointment September 2015, his regime has being great. His achievement and contributions to this great faculty of engineering and university of Uyo as a whole includes;
1. Engineering seasonal praise in order to form a perfect union.
2. Sport week including; volley ball competition, football etc.
3. Exhibition/expo 2016.
4. He has been able to promote general welfare.
5. Participation in NSE weeks
6. Participation in International student’s day.
He has really been a good example of leadership. I wish you success in your upcoming achievements and your remaining tenure to govern us well.
One thing I am sure of is that, the sky is your limits. With you, I, Us and We in hands with his administrations, and God by our side, we will move this great faculty to its greater height. Amos 3:3
Long live this buoyant administration and The REDEMPTION TEAM

It is the aspiration of every pukka leader to advocate for change in any existing government, extending a helping hand to the short-comings of the antecedent. The faculty of engineering, University of Uyo experienced her own epoch under the jurisdiction of Comrade Idara Bassey. This change in other words innovation was felt in this era. In a learning society filled with a teaming populace or rather plebs of engineering scholars, there is a need for habitual update on technological trends. This conventional administration had this foresight and brought this to reality by organizing an invention and innovation Expo. This exposé took place place at the PTDF auditorium, with the eight departments of the faculty involved and three emerging winners. Winners are not just made without factual and candid information. The current administration has made it possible for information to be disseminated timely throughout the NUESA family. Prior notice is always given ahead of any event or gathering. Need I say more?., every level respectively in the faculty is given a fair hearing and can contribute their own quota to help this administration. Though in any body of government,there are shortcomings but these shortcomings are quite infinitesimal. So to the current administration, I would say “encore”. And if I am permitted to use the popular hash tag to my own employ, I would say #EveryEffortWasAhit.

A brief story of the IDARA BASSEY led administration(The Redemption Team)
          The Redemption government has been one that has kept it’s word written in each of the executive speech.  This government is one that believes in love,unity and creativity. When his intentions was made known to everyone, and to me as a friend he made few promises which was a reverse of what other candidates did.
            And as such since sport is a game which unifies people from all over the world,this particular government’s first event was the volleyball competition and after that there has been more sporting events in the faculty. And as the sport events were also going on, the present government still had an invention innovation expo which gave students the opportunity to be innovative.
            And as a President that he is, he doesn’t side line people, he shows concern to everyone I mean Everyone. And to be sincere I’m proud to be a partaker/part of the Redemption Team.

THE IDARA BASSEY LED ADMINISTRATION 

I have not been in the faculty for too long, but I have been here long enough to confidently say that the Idara Bassey led administration has been one of the best, the faculty has ever had. In less than five months after his inauguration he has made groundbreaking achievements that point to more positive records.
Primarily his goal  was to establish a good relationship between the student with dean, lecturers and our alumni, this led to him gaining successfully, e.g. the Comr. Patrick Imoh interdepartmental Volleyball competition, and Building the confidence of the public in the faculty which has led to our faculty being reckoned with in Akwa-Ibom state through various partnership with government. Worthy of note is the result gotten from the Faculty of Engineering Invention / Innovation Expo which saw the winners presenting before government functionaries and accrued the respect of various individuals including the dakkada ambassador who has promised to work with the winning team in exposing their invention. The Invention / Innovation Expo is the first of its kind.
Also from the director of academic section of his administration, is a publication SAILENT VOICE to help improve the thinking of students with jokes, revealing happening and quiz where the winner stand to win fabulous prizes.
Also forth coming is the Engineering Seasonal praise which is to hold on the 21st of January, at the ptdf auditorium, Uniuyo perm site. He did all this within four month of his administration.
although he won’t be staying the full 10 month as stipulated, so as to help the incoming president to have ample time to pursue his or her goals.
According to Idara Bassey himself, he said he came in to chart a new way forward.

Hon. IDARA BASSEY a student of petroleum engineering was elected president of the faculty of engineering,university of uyo in second semester of the 2014/2015 session and since then has been working ceaselessly with his team towards moving this prestigious faculty to greater heights.
He and his team is geared towards making life in d faculty of engineering faculty a very good experience.And it is seen in the various programs set up by his administration like…
*Patrick imoh volleyball competition
*Invention and innovation expo
*Five aside soccer competition   and the upcoming Engineering praise night.
Even with all this obligations he still makes out time to give students career advice. It is no doubt that he is an asset to this great faculty.

NOTIFICATION OF COMBINED CONVOCATION CEREMONY

This is to inform you that Heritage Polytechnic is hosting her 1st combined Convocation Ceremony for its graduands from inception to 2015.

The weeklong ceremony is slated to run from Sunday, January 31 – Friday, February 5, 2016 with a Convocation Ceremony.

The week’s events include among others: Pre-convocation Interdenominational Service, Cultural Display, Novelty Football match, Convocation Lecture / Dinner, Commissioning of Projects.

The theme for the lecture as will be delivered by Prof. Mbuk Mboho of the University of Uyo is “Imperatives of CHANGE in a dwindling Mono-Culture Economy in a Democratic Dispensation.”

Only students who graduated under Heritage Polytechnic at both the National and Higher National Diploma levels are affected by this information.
